• About Me:
I grew up in a small rural town, Chino, California. It was known for two things
back in the day: cows and the prison. When the cows moved out and big city life
took over, we decided to move our family to Oregon and honestly, couldn’t
be happier. I attended Lane Community College where I earned my AAOT. I transferred
to the adult education program at Linfield College, Eugene Campus. Although currently
on hold, I do plan to return and complete my degree in education some day – just
not today! I worked for Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA) for 10+
years and I worked at the University of Oregon for 7+ years. Although I haven’t
worked at many places, I have had a lot of different job titles which all relate
back to customer service. I thoroughly enjoy working with people. In October
2005, I left University of Oregon in search of a busier day in a much more challenging
work environment. Well, have you ever heard the expression “Be careful
of what you wish for?”, I got exactly what I wished for! I live in Springfield
with my incredible husband of 16 years and 3 crazy-wonderful kids. Baseball is
my #1 followed by volunteering my time to anything youth related, gardening,
and spending summers along the river. Life is sweet.

What I do at RDI:
I am the Executive Assistant which means I work closely with the Executive Director
and the Director of Operations to accomplish an ever-growing list of wonderful
challenges. My most recent ventures include marketing, graphic design, web master,
and conference planner along with the daily functions of the admin world. Luckily,
I have a great intern who truly does save me from endless hours of work! What
I love most about my position is that I work with wonderful people in a fun and
supportive environment where there is always opportunity to develop and grow.
•
State where I was born:
California (yes, I am a Cali transplant)
• What I wanted to be when I was 8 years old:
An elementary school teacher. I would make my younger sister play ‘school’ with
me every chance I got!
•
Interesting previous job(s) I've held:
Egg Salesgirl at a chicken ranch. Correction, TOP salesgirl!
•
One of my personal goals for :
To become healthy in mind, body and spirit.
• A place I want to visit at least once in my lifetime:
One huge road trip around the world. Is that too much to ask?
• My favorite book and why:
Ishmael: an adventure of the mind and spirit. Ishmael is a talking gorilla who
teaches that which all humans need to learn -- must learn -- if our species,
and the rest of life on Earth as we know it, is to survive. Although it’s
been many years since I read this, one fundamental point that stays with me is
that we weren't born a menace to the world and that it’s not our destiny
to go on being a menace to the world.
• My favorite board game:
Sorry because it can be so wickedly fun!
• The coolest thing someone has done for me:
When I met my birthmother, she shared everything I have ever wanted to know about
my heritage and then some! After an extended period of time and a ton of reflection,
it hit me (literally) that I am exactly where I am suppose to be.
