Building Rural Capacity through Leadership Development
Rural communities throughout our region have knowledgeable and skilled individual and organizational leaders who are strongly networked and make a difference in their own organizations and communities across the Pacific Northwest. We believe that effective, diverse, and collaborative leadership is an essential component of vital rural communities. We also believe that leadership can be an intentional and learned skill.
RDI has delivered the Rural Community Leadership Program (formerly known as the Ford Institute Leadership Program) in more than 350 communities, serving nearly 90 rural hubs across the Pacific Northwest with over 9,000 rural leadership graduates. We also deliver the Sherwood Trust Community Leadership Program, and we launched additional classes in Washington in 2017 in the Yakima Valley, Skamania County, Mason County, and the Greater Palouse region. We also offer leadership services customized to fit your community's needs through our Rural Community Leader's Toolbox.
