The City of Coburg continues to look to the future as dozens of community members attended the March Visioning Summit to hear updates and participate in the process to create a 20-year Community Vision. Information from community surveys, focus groups, and interviews, as well as demographic data about Coburg, was shared with the group. The Summit also served as an opportunity for people to weigh in on the process and prioritize common themes raised through surveys and focus groups. Attendees worked in small groups to identify priorities to begin drafting the community vision.
You're Invited to the June 14 Meeting!
We are now in the middle of the community visioning process, and there are still opportunities to get involved. All are welcome to attend the third Coburg Community Visioning meeting on June 14 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Coburg City Hall. A draft vision statement will be unveiled at the meeting, and community members will have an opportunity to give input on action steps for the future. Food will be provided, and we hope to see you there!
About the Process
Throughout this visioning process, community members have been sharing feedback about what makes Coburg truly special and participating in focus groups centered around ten different key areas including Seniors; Latino; Agricultural Businesses; Youth; Young Families; Groups Outside Coburg; CORE Businesses Downtown; Tourism; Committee Groups; and I-5 Businesses. All Coburg-area residents are welcome to participate in the collaborative process; so far more than 100 people have been involved since it kicked off in January.
The key objectives of the Community Visioning process, a collaboration between the community of Coburg and RDI, are to produce a 20-year Vision Statement; engage a broad and inclusive representation of voices in the community; and ensure community buy-in, awareness, and coordinated follow-up actions for the Coburg Community Vision.
