Scott moved to Stevenson from San Diego in 2005 and immediately began getting involved in the community. Around 2010, he got it in his head he would like to be mayor and began building his resume. He has been the chairman of the Stevenson Business Association, sat on the Skamania Chamber of Commerce board, and served as president twice. He has served as chairman of the Stevenson Planning Commission, sat as chairman of the steering committee of the Stevenson Downtown Association, and was their first president. His business was recognized as business of the year, and he was selected as member of the year of the Skamania Chamber of Commerce. He was elected mayor in 2017 and took office in January of 2018. Scott is passionate about rural, and loves small towns, because being heard is as easy as getting off the couch and participating in the process. Scott was part of RDI’s Rural Community Leadership first cohort in Skamania County, and returned as a trainer the next year. He has adopted the lessons learned and applied them to the operations of the city of Stevenson. He is a computer geek by trade and loves running local trivia contests, as well as playing the part of Santa every year - with a real beard!
